Formation & Growth
Wingspan Development Group was formed by the principals of the 40-plus year general contracting and construction management firm Nicholas & Associates to capitalize on multifamily residential, commercial, mixed-use, and land development opportunities throughout Chicagoland.
Since our inception, we have experienced tremendous growth by executing our plan to selectively target markets offering a good quality of life, that exhibit job and wage growth, and have demands for multifamily luxury rental units. Our expansion has resulted in development opportunities in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, with additional locations on the horizon.
Experience
The Wingspan principals bring more than 100 total years of experience in acquiring, structuring, entitling, financing, developing, constructing, and managing real estate projects. This wide breadth of expertise, along with our team’s unparalleled commitment to detail and execution, allows us to deliver projects of uncompromising quality across our multiple markets.
We are both analytical and aggressive as we approach every opportunity seeking to find the best value proposition for a given property. That thought process drives our site selection, design, and building processes. We have established relationships with top tier consultants and trade partners whose priority is to deliver an outcome that reflects our focus on quality.
As a vertically integrated company, we rely on the extensive experience and expertise of Nicholas & Associates (our sister company) throughout the pre-construction and construction phases of a project. Having seasoned construction experts involved early and throughout the project design phase creates efficiencies and is critical to managing project costs. The Nicholas & Associates team serves as our construction manager, allowing seamless communication and greater agility.
Wingspan is a proud member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and actively attends and participates in NMHC hosted events throughout the year.
